On behalf of the Kent International Model United Nations (KentMUN) secretariat, it is my pleasure to welcome you all to the first edition of our conference to be held from March 2-4, 2018. Canterbury, being the home of a UNESCO world heritage site in the shape of the historic cathedral, promises to be an exciting backdrop for KentMUN and aside from engaging in long hours of debate, we encourage delegates and faculty advisers to take in the sites and sounds of the town by taking a walk down the high street, touring the interior of the cathedral or visiting one of the town’s public gardens.
KentMUN allows students from across the United Kingdom and the rest of the world to come together in the spirit of diplomacy and multiculturalism to discuss solutions to some of the most pressing issues currently affecting our world today. This conference, furthermore, allows delegates to learn and build on valuable skills as well as network with various individuals. Various committees such as the United Nations Security Council and a special crisis committee will be present at this conference. Details pertaining to topics will be announced on the conference website in due course.
Delegate registration as well as chair applications will open on July 1, 2017 and all applications can be made through our conference website and will be processed accordingly. Furthermore, as the conference date approaches, we suggest that you have a glance at our conference preparation tab as well as the individual committee pages for information such as study guides for the topics that will be discussed during the conference. Any other information such as the conference schedule as well as fees will be made available in due course.
In the meantime, we hope that you will consider coming to KentMUN 2018. As always, the secretariat is here to make sure you have the most positive conference experience and are available should there be any questions (no question is too silly).
