Human Rights Council (UNHRC)

Despite the recent overtures by the USA to leave this body, we are nonetheless pleased to announce the third committee for KentMUN 2019: UNHRC! Headquartered in Geneva, the Human Rights Council was established in 2006 with the aim of promoting and protecting human rights around the world. The body has 47 member states which are elected by the General Assembly from the UN's regional groups. The UNHCR holds plenary sessions 3 times per year, and the current president is Mr Vojislav Šuc of Slovenia
